Carved into a copy of Gulliver's Travels, Adelma is a city from Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities.

 

This project investigates the principles of composition, the relationship of the city to the site (i.e. the book) and the formal differences between the surrounding topography and the city itself to create a distinct visual effect when placed next to each other.
